MEMORIAL DAY: Freeman celebrates the 761st Tank Battalion

The know of the past is beautifully welcomed when it is brought to light and in a beauteous celebration as this, Morgan Freeman, that American actor you recognize his voice, shares a moment of history that so much correlates with the Memorial Day celebrations.

This is a holiday that usually marks the beginning of a vibrant summer to come but it met with varied approach brewed up by the pandemic’s ‘gift of loneliness’.

On his Instagram page, Freeman posted a picture of the 761st Tank Battalion, an African American tank battalion of the United States Army also know as the Black Panthers celebrating the Memorial Day.

The 761st Tank Battalion (aka the "Black Panthers") was an independent African American tank battalion of the United States Army during World War II, who by federal law were not permitted to serve alongside white troops. The motto of the 761st was "Come out fighting" — and that they did! They were known as the tip of Patton's spear in the battlefield and have since been called "one of the most effective tank battalions in World War II" #MemorialDay #761st
