We enjoyed watching Indian movies with great addiction, as children. Even though we did not understand it, we loved the acts, the dances, the songs, and yes, the language. And as we grew older, with many great imaginations that we were very sure could not come to pass, the addiction eventually tagged along, and one of them saw Nollywood and Bollywood coming together to make a movie. Little did we realize that the future that exists today was imagined by us.


Marriage is one thing that defiles discord, discrepancies, and other negativities that give us untrue excuses for not being one or how we can only not come together in unity. Marriage has done so well in real life that it has not only brought together two individuals or families, but it has also brought together tribes, states, countries and continents.


We expected it to be like a child, and now we have seen it happen as glorified adults. Namaste Wahala, a Bollywood-Nollywood movie in which a cross-cultural love seemed like a match made in the sky until when their parents found out, all hell broke loose.


Directed by Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, Namaste Wahala is an interracial romance where the parents of the couple who chew on each other under the pretext of mother’s security and father’s legacy create a humorous and heart-wrenching drama.
