The strength and fruition of passion is enormous and mightily awesome. When passion which is borne out of love is embraced, greatness becomes a company. Swimming is the hobby but her passion is art.

Angelina Ampofo Asomaning, is a self-taught artist in Ghana who is from a family of 6. She read business studies in high school at Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Senior High school in Cape Coast and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Education, Winneba.

Angelina has been drawing for fun since her primary school days until she got encouraged to do commissioned pencil portraits after her national service in 2019.

Then in January 2020, she decided to challenge herself a bit by diving into acrylic painting.

She reached out to a couple of already established Ghanaian artists on the internet for guidance on how to paint but most of them had busy schedules. Finally she met Ahmed Partey also an artist around March 2020, who was amazed by the strength of her passion and accepted to give her all the guidance she needed to handle acrylic paint.

She created acrylic paintings from then and decided to move on to oil paintings in August 2020, and that’s what she does now.

Angelina in an interview with Godfrey Times said that this is my passion, to me art is about creating something that evokes a thought or feeling, at the same time sending a message. Something that the viewers and not only the artist can relate to.

Describing to Godfrey Times what she sees when we say Art, the cogent pride of the Gold Coast who is from the Greater Accra Region said art is diverse, there are many forms of art. To me anything that seeks to creatively change the way something is done and also evoke a feeling its observers can relate to is art.

Angelina is inspired greatly by the women and children in the society, their emotions and the role they play in shaping it.
