Manchester United came from a goal down to defeat Liverpool 3-2 at Old Trafford on Sunday evening and dumped the English Premier League (EPL) champions out of the FA Cup.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool’s Egyptian forward, scored his first goal in six matches when he took a Roberto Firmino’s pass and lifted the ball beyond onrushing Dean Henderson, United goalkeeper.

An undeterred United restored parity through a devastating counter-attack that ended with Mason Greenwood putting the ball beyond Alisson Becker.

Paul Pogba won the ball and quickly moved it on to Marcus Rashford who found Greenwood with a raking pass and the youngster finished it off for his first goal in 11 matches.

Rashford and Greenwood again combined to complete the turnaround three minutes after the interval with the latter providing the cross for the former to sweep in for 2-1.

Salah equalised with his 19th goal of the season with another excellent finish on the hour mark. The forward was on the end of James Milner’s dummy on Firmino’s pass before expertly dispatching into the bottom corner.

Man United are unbeaten in their last seven home games against Liverpool in all competitions and Bruno Fernandes ensured the Red Devils’ passage into the next round with the winning goal from a free kick in the 78th minute.

The 66th-minute substitute excellently dispatched the kick from the edge of the area for 3-2.

Man United, who made it eight consecutive home wins in the FA Cup, will now meet West Ham United in the fifth round of the competition.
