Nigeria’s drum goddess Aralola Olamuyiwa who is respectable musically to Africa and the rest of the world as ARA, endeared ex-President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo to a dance with a chief praise (traditionally known as Oriki) and rhythms from the drum world through the talking drum.

This according to ARA, who shared the moments which are in two parts on her social media handles, was a surprise birthday gift to Obasanjo whom she described as Baba of Africa.

In the videos seen by Godfrey Times Lifestyle (GTL), the chief praise which was rendered by Faridat Okikiola Olanrewaju popularly known as Olaoriki and the rhythms from the drum teleguided the chants so well that Obasanjo who is a father and mentor to ARA, danced so joyfully taking in the moment.

This surprise which happened on Friday, 5th of March, was to celebrate Obasanjo’s birthday.

The chief praise progressed on to where olaoriki lift her hand to Obasanjo and he put his hands on her as the drums proceeded with their teleguiding and other women join to dance with the man who a very long road (Obasanjo Way) in Accra is named after.

In a phone conversation Ara told Godfrey Times Lifestyle that Baba was so shocked and very happy and this gladdened me very well.

Nigeria’s tradition cum culture movie writter and producer Babatunde Akorede, best known and loved as Omo Baba Oba was among those who accompanied Ara to Obasanjo’s place of residence in Abeokuta.

Like ARA, Olaoriki posted the moments on her Instagram profile. So below is the video which captured most of Obasanjo’s dance.
