Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia state governor, has advised Mikel Arteta, Arsenal coach, to beg Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea gaffer, to “cut small soap” for him.

“Cut soap for me” is a Nigerian slang that loosely means “share the secret of your success”.

The slang was made popular by Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi, Leicester City duo, in the wake of the latter’s newfound form in the English Premier League.

Kalu’s comment is coming ahead of the north London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea.

Owing to their current form, the Chelsea side are expected to thrash Arsenal at Stamford Bridge when they meet on Wednesday.

The chief whip of the Nigerian senate tweeted about the game via his official Twitter handle on Sunday morning.

The tweet read: “At this point Arteta should beg Tuchel for small soap. Happy Sunday Dear sports loving friends! What do you think ?? #OUK.”

In November 2020, the 60-year-old senator declared his intention to purchase a 35 percent stake in Arsenal.
