Nigerians desperately hope that the presidential election on Saturday will be the first step in turning around the country’s fortunes after years of dashed expectations.

From what we know, there are reports of ballot box snatching in various polling stations in Lagos. One cannot tell now what the direction of the voting exercise is, but The New York Times has a detailed report on what the presidential election has been like so far. (See here).

Now what does a candidate need to win? Do we know what is different about this ballot? Or the top issues? What does polling show (or not show)? Answers to these questions are all in ‘Nigerian Election 2023: What to Know and What Polling Shows’ by the New York Times (here)

TheCable, a credible independent online newspaper in Nigeria, had reported that 87.2m Nigerians will vote. It had reported that it will provide blow-by-blow reporting LIVE — in text, video, audio, and photo for their readers.

There’s so much on the #NigeriaElections2023 on their website or social media accounts.
