Thanksgiving is a celebrated national holiday in the wonderful United States of America. All three—food, family, and football—are important (NFL).

It isn’t over here in Nigeria.

However, it is a spiritual tradition at El-Shaddai Salvation Family Ministries (ESFM).

A yearly celebration of Christ, love, and family.

Families, people of various religions, tribes, and churchgoers come together to eat copiously.

I requested permission to miss school over the weekend so that I could take part in this celebration of love. I’ll tell you, I’m happy I did.

It was so uplifting to see the large group of people—Muslims, people from various tribes, and members of other churches—happy and at ease together.

Pastor Benson and Benedicta Enakhena, my parents, are wonderful people. I feel incredibly lucky to be their child.

My parents are staunch proponents of God’s love. They keep developing so well in it, and I am picking up a lot from their development.

They regularly inform my siblings and I “No matter your race, tribe, religion, or place of worship, everyone at ESFM is a part of the same family. Christ’s body is one.”

Of all the lovely lessons my parents have taught us, this one resonates the most beautiful in our hearts.

A portion of humanity come together in the love of Christ filled my heart with joy and happiness.
