Everything has a beginning, including the world we live in today and even life itself. And for The Word of Godfrey Times, this was the little beginning — a beginning in which Apostle Benson Enakhena preached the sermon “My little beginning.” In the year 2019, this was the first divine message we propagated via www.godfreytimes.ng. We had no idea that spreading God’s message would expand into its own category on a worldwide internet platform, which is now www.godfreytimes.com. Then, we were merely a credible news blog with everything shrouded together. The Word of Godfrey Times was born from this message.
We learned from God’s message that every man created by God has a little beginning to his greatness, destiny, and glory. And this beginning is required for all greatness to arise.
Today on The Word of Godfrey Times, we’re revisiting “My Little Beginning,” the message that gave rise to our little beginning.
In this message, Apostle Benson Enakhena, the lead pastor of El-Shaddai Salvation Family Ministries (ESFM), says God demonstrated a little beginning in the beginning.
The fiery apostle said this on Sunday 6, January 2019 during his preaching on the topic “My Little Beginning”
Enakhena stated that what he discovered years ago is that the human race, particularly the Black race, refuses to start little—people despise you when you start little, and they even stay away from you, waiting for you to fold up when you start little—but I want to ask what God said when he was about to create man in Genesis 1:26. Did God say, “Let us make men and women,”? Did he say, “Let us create men,”? “When God created man, it was a little beginning, but he had an agenda—you must have an agenda this year; don’t procrastinate. When God had an agenda, he created man in his own image and likeness—and your little beginning must be something you love—your little beginning can’t become anything unless you love the beginning—you cannot prosper with selling fuel when you hate the odour of fuel—neither can you prosper with teaching or as a teacher if you hate children— You flourish in what you love, which is why God said, “Let us create man in our image.” Even when man strayed, God loved him and drew him closer.”
“You will not be ashamed of what you love—anything you are ashamed of your love is not there, if what you are doing now you don’t love it change it—even if you are prospering you will fall, change it—what you love even if it is difficult start it, the Lord is there to finish with you—even when God created man it was not rosey, start it, the Lord is there to finish with you—even when God created man it was not rosey, man fell apart—God persevered with Man, giving birth to Cain and Abel, and even when Cain followed in Adam’s footsteps, God did not abandon Cain—He persevered with Man until He said, “Let me send my only begotten son.” How far have you progressed with that little beginning that you are becoming discouraged? Enakhena inquired.
“You must be consistent and available in your little beginning, because the Bible says that when God created Adam and Eve, He will come and worship with them—do you understand? Even when man derailed and discovered he was naked and covered himself with fig leaf, God still came after all the disobedience because God loved them and carried the skin of an animal to cover them up—God did not say I will not do it again; instead, He said I have hope here, it is my image, I love him.
“We abuse our little beginning, holding it in our left hand—there is greatness in your little beginning, this year focus on your little beginning—the Lord said I will bless the work of your hands, not the NNPC.
God himself demonstrated a little beginning in the beginning, when he had the authority to say, “Let me create one million men and one million women—not two, but one.”
“When God created Adam, he found that he was lonely, so He said, ‘Let us give him a helper.’ He didn’t hunt for the helper elsewhere, so the Bible says God made him fall into a deep sleep and removed a rib from him—let your beginning prosper itself since our God is able.’
“Believe in yourself and your small beginning. You must take your small start seriously and must also be faithful with it—let your one be one and your two be two.
“Little beginnings are often accompanied by a lot of hard work and little assistance. Nobody wants to invest in a little beginning—no Bank will loan you money in your little beginning—it requires hard work—Bank only want to hear from you when they see what they can get from you—little beginnings comes with tough resistance—there are so many disappointments and failures in little beginnings.
Enakhena added that man’s perseverance has vanished…we want it hot.
He cautioned, however, that whatever God has called you to accomplish this year, do not despise it.
